What is the USA Hawaii-Japan Junior Cup?

USA Hawaii-Japan Junior Cup, whose title sponsor is Hilton Grand Vacations Company, is an annual world-class junior golf tournament that recognizes and rewards the golf ability in young men and women from the Hawaiian Islands and Japan, while raising awareness and monies for a variety of local charitable organizations.

Who benefits from the USA Hawaii-Japan Junior Cup?

USA Hawaii-Japan Junior Cup sponsored by Hilton Grand Vacations Company is an educational and recreational vehicle by which talented young men and women from different cultures compete in a positive and friendly atmosphere with the potential of creating long-lasting bonds.

Additionally, the tournament offers the opportunity to invest further in the community through philanthropic activities with all participating tournament partners. Each year a percentage of the monies raised from the tournament will benefit a variety of deserving local organizations with this inaugural year’s event partners to include the American Cancer Society Big Island Chapter, Hawaii State Junior Golf Association, Japan High School Golf Association and the Waikoloa Foundation.

Future plans call for the tournament to return to the Kohala Coast in 2008 and then begin an every-other-year rotation between Hawaii and Japan, thus garnering further national and international attention for the tournament, its charitable partners and its sponsors.

When is the USA Hawaii-Japan Junior Cup?

This year’s inaugural event, taking place November 6 through 9, features a strong partnership between Hilton Grand Vacations Company (HGVC), the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association (HSJGA) and the Japan High School Golf Association (JHSGA). It is to be staged at the world renowned Waikoloa Kings’ Golf Course in the heart of the resort-dotted Kohala Coast and will feature 2 teams, one from United States and one from Japan, competing in a Ryder Cup™ style Golf Tournament for both junior men 15-18 and women ages 13 to 18.
