Age division criteria are determined by the last day of the Championship for that particular age division: 10 -11 years (age on July 27, 2009) 12 -13 years (age on July 27, 2009) 14 -15 years (age on July 27, 2009) 16 -18 years (age on August 2, 2009)
Eligibility:
Age Verification is required when checking in at the Hawaii District Qualifier. Proof of age (school picture ID, driver’s license or permit, passport or copy of birth certificate) will be required upon registration on June 18th. Juniors who do not reside in Hawaii may compete in Hawaii's district qualifier but will not be eligible to receive the subsidy for 1st place should they win the boy or girl 16-18 years age division. Exempt Hawaii juniors (as designated by the OIJGC headquarters) can play & receive a subsidy, but will not take away a qualifying spot. Foreign students attending school in Hawaii, or out of state players are eligible for subsidies.
AWARDS:
The boy and girl first place winners of the 16-18 years age division will receive $900 each, to subsidize their airfare and OIJGC registration fees (5 nights lodging, one practice, all tournament rounds, recreational activities, 5 breakfasts and 5 dinners). The16-18 years second place finishers will receive $300 each. The other age division first place winners will be subsidized $100 each. Juniors must participate in the OIJGC Tournament in order to receive this subsidy. If our fundraiser(s) is successful, we may increase the subsidies to help more juniors going to the OIJGC. Trophy awards will be presented to the 1st - 3rd place players in all age divisions.
OIJGC Qualifiers must make a commitment to play in the OIJGC by June 22, 2009 to allow time for Alternates to be called, book flight arrangements & register.
